There are almost 300 types of species fount worldwide from Saussurea. It is mostly found in wet places along the rivers at the eights up to 5000 ft. Its cultivation requires moist soil partial shade. its roots are harvested in autumn and spring. Used for decoctions, powders, and liquid extracts.
Sea/Marine Qust is a little paler in color (Light) and also milder in taste and more suitable for children. Keep Qust always at home.

1:- It is helpful for Bones
Hazrat Anas Bin Malik a prophet رضي الله عنه said that Nabiﷺ told Wet Cupping (الحجامة) and white costus (القسط البحرى) (Qust Al Bahri) is the best of your diseases.
2:- Pleurisy
Hazrat Zaid Bin Arqam a prophet رضي الله عنه said that:- Rasoolullahﷺ advise, as a treatment for pleurisy (الجنب ذات) (Zaatul Janb), Costus (قسط) (Qust), Memecylon (ورس) (Warss), & olive oil (زيت) (Zait) & take at problematic one side of the mouth (يُلَدُّ).
Means above preparation to be taken on the same side of the mouth on which side there is a problem.
3:- Throat Infection:
“if children are suffering from throat infection diseases (العذرة) (Azrah), please do not press their throat & do not give them pain (Azab) you have costus (القسط) Qust (use it).
How to take:-
1. 1teaspoon costus, 1teaspoon honey in warm water, in an empty stomach, once a day.
It is suitable to cure; diarrhea, constipation, blood clots, tumors, cancer, cholesterol, high blood pressure, asthma, breathing problems, cleanses the womb, increases fertility, stomach pains, stomach upsets,
2. 1teaspoon costus, 1teaspoon honey, mix and apply to the skin surface. After 2 hours rinse it with water.
It is used to treat; acne and pimples, spots, mosquito bites, eczema, thrush, scars, burns, nappy rash, piles, and a face mask.
3. 1teaspoon costus, 1 full glass of water, boil together for 2 minutes and allow to cool. Shake and apply 1-2 drops in each nostril.
It is used to treat; disinfects cuts, nose bleeds, runny nose
4. 1teaspoon costus, apply directly to the skin.
It is used to treat; athlete’s foot. Also used as a natural scent and deodorant.
Take with food or drink, once a week.
It is used to strengthen the immune system of a human being.
It is used in the treatment of rheumatism, eczema, dandruff, hair loss, arthritis, bites, spots, skin discoloring.
Take care before use:-
It should not be given to women during pregnancy, lactating period and proper Ayurveda doctor advise to be taken before use.
