What are the Essential Oils?
Essential oils are concentrated compounds extracted from plants, herbs, or from flowers in form of liquid. These extracts (essential oils) are then used in aromatherapy and naturopathy. These liquid extracts have higher levels of active ingredients than the actual plants.
How to use Essential Oil?
Essential oils are mostly used in aromatherapy. Now here question rises what is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is an ancient traditional method used by alternative medicinal practitioners where by using a diffuser container, oil droplet, spray or breathed in via steam machine. In doing this the pleasant smell of Essential oil stimulates our body, mind and can provide relief in respiratory disinfection and decongestion. When pleasant smell reaches our brain it removes stress and helpful in obtaining mental peace.
Then essential oil can be used as massaging, in the bath also. Massaging the oil can boost blood circulation and makes the body energetic.
Note:- Directly essential oil applied on skin may cause allergies and skin issues. So before using essential oil it is always necessary to dilute the essential oil in the carrier oil ( Like in almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, etc). After dilution only we can use the essential oil for massaging.
Even after dilution, we have to check allergic reaction before applying to the skin for that we can rub a small amount of diluted oil under the forearms and see after 24-48 hours if no allergy arises than can be used on another area of the body.
Maximum five percent dilution of essential oil in carrier oil is marked as safe.
Taking essential oils by mouth via swallowing or ingesting is highly risky can affect the liver and kidney.
