Ashwagandha also known as Indian ginseng, winter cherry, asgandha, asgandh, asoda, ghoda-asoda, Hayahvaya, and in botanical called as Withania Somnifera is used in Ayurveda from centuries. It plant leaves, roots, and berries are used in Ayurveda herbs for making medicines. Indian Ginseng is one of the most popular Ayurvedic herb in India as well as in western countries. Indian ginseng reduces stress and anxiety, increase stamina, it is helpful in building immunity. it also has aphrodisiac properties. It is also helpful in reducing high blood sugar (diabetes), it is also helpful in controlling high cholesterol still research are going on on this. It is also useful in male infertility, arthritis, and Parkinson’s disease. With these multi-benefit, it is also called the king of all the Ayurvedic herbs. Indian Ginseng can be taken in powder form 1-2 gram two time a day with water, ghee, milk or with honey. For short term or short duration can be taken but there is a risk if taken ashwagandha for longer duration and if the amount (quantity) of herb power increases then it might cause stomach upset, vomiting.
As we know that Indian Ginsen reduces anxiety but there are some special instructions for Pregnant women, Renal Failure, Cardiac Failure patient and for kids, please consult your alternative medicine practitioner before use. Avoid if suffering from loose motion.
